A Sacrifice of Praise

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. Hebrews 13:15

Have you ever suffered from a complaining spirit?

Me too.

It’s easy to criticize, find fault, demean or in other ways withhold what would otherwise be the good fruit that drips from lips continually praising God.

I’m guilty of it too.

Why do we kick up the dirt and curse the daylight?

For some people, grumbling comes early in the morning and stays all day.

It shouldn’t be that way, Christian.

We, of all people, have so many reasons to rejoice. We have many reasons to praise. We have many opportunities to lift up our voice and thank God for the good things He has done. He has done many good things.

Today, you might feel like speaking a word of praise would be too big a sacrifice…cost you too much.

Do it any way.

Our God is the God of the harvest, so we know that no seed of hope planted in Him ever wilts on the vine. Instead, it flourishes and produces a hundred fold what we entrusted to Him in prayer and praise.

Today, let’s open our lips and let the praise rush out. Our God is worthy of this, and so much more!
