…remember, if you were a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord. And if you were free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ. God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world. 1 Cor 7: 22-23
As surely as I valued your life today, so may the LORD value my life and deliver me from all trouble. 1 Samuel 26:24
I’m impressed with the changes that take place once an individual is converted to the Christian faith. If we come to God from a place of pride and excess, it seems to me that the Lord quickly surrounds us with others that exhibit traits of humility and generosity to help us develop those parts of our being. Conversely, if we come from a place of poverty or abuse, He sends others that bring spiritual gifts of gentleness, encouragement, hope, kindness, and belief in our abilities to add value to the body of Christ. These others may be the first people we can remember ever having exhibited belief in our abilities or value. Praise God for them.
Praise God for His perfect plan of transformation!
I love that our Lord does these things.
I love the way He steers the maturing process.
I love that He takes into account our unique needs.
I love that He hones our abilities so that we can better respond to Him and our fellows.
I love the understanding, instruction, and uplifting sense of moral value that the church of Jesus Christ exhibits as one of the hallmarks of its faith.
God believes in us–isn’t that life affirming?
Perhaps you’ve heard the offer made to unbelievers: Give yourself to God and ask Jesus to save you from your sins. Give him your fears, your tears, your worries and your confusion. Try it for one year, and at that end of that time if your life is not better, fuller, more satisfying and encouraging, we will gladly refund your grief, pain, and dread. It’s a good bargain, and a great deal–an incentive with teeth, because we know beyond any doubt that at the end of that year with Christ things will be better!
Today, I’m focused on the value we have in Christ, and the power we have as we stand united, praying for those who have yet to make such a deal with the Lord of Glory. Remember in prayer today those who are outside the kingdom, and praise God that you are not.
YOU are valuable to Him. Never forget it!
