The mister had his recheck on the eye this morning, and the doc said without even looking through his instruments that he could tell Bob was 100% better than the last time he was in the office, a week ago.
He’s right–Bob does look much better today!
Once the ophthalmologist looked into the eye, he said the tear in the cornea is doing better and he decided to begin the step-down process for the anti-viral eye drops. Apparently, you can’t quit them cold turkey. Who knew?!
Bob’s next recheck on the eye is November 17th. At that point the visits will begin to be spaced further apart. He may need to follow-up on the eye every month for a while, and then they will probably want to see him every six months.
Shingles in the eye is nothing to fool with, I tell you. Serious stuff! It can lead to partial sight loss, blindness, or glaucoma, but we are believing God for a good outcome, and trusting that we got Bob help soon enough that these things will not have to be faced by him/us.
The Good News: He is reading at two lines above last time this week, so his sight is improving. Yay!
It’s going to take time and patience for this shingles of the eye to be completely healed, we’re told, but we’re getting there.
Doc says Bob is no longer contagious! Woohoo, that is GOOD NEWS!!!
