“There is none righteous, no, not one;
There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”
“Their throat is an open tomb;
With their tongues they have practiced deceit”;
“The poison of asps is under their lips”;
“Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”
“Their feet are swift to shed blood;
Destruction and misery are in their ways;
And the way of peace they have not known.”
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3:10-18
Looking at our Scripture verse for today, a numbness sinks into my soul.
Look at what Jesus had to deal with when he visited the earth. None righteous. None acting out of spiritual zeal. No one seeking God at any time; but every man speaking lies, plotting murder, and continually acting in deceitful ways. To say it was any way other than this when Jesus came to abide with men would be to perpetuate yet another lie. To suggest that we don’t continue this tradition of sinfulness to this day is self-delusion. We do. Humanity must have seemed a miserable bottomless pit of depravity to the Son of Man when he came, and so it was.
So it is!
Pharisees and pagans still walk earth’s streets, and sin is still in operation everywhere!
Enter Our Savior, Jesus the Christ!
Messiah. Beloved. Only Begotten. Born of a virgin. Sinless. Powerful. Authority. Master!
Our Easter redeemer! Our way out of the pit!!!
Today, let’s focus our minds on how much we have to be thankful for and give God our praise. He knew our deplorable condition before He sent His Son to save us! How much we must mean to Him!!
May we always be thankful and full of praise for all God’s done.
Jesus made a way out of the pit for you and me. Glory Hallelujah—What a Savior!!!
