5MinuteMonday.GRAPHICjpgIt’s been a while since I posted a 5 Minute Monday challenge on the blog.  I thought today might be a good day to do it again.

With this prompt, I’m inviting you into a five-minute meditation time.  Below, is a prompt for this five-minute escape from the “tyranny of the urgent” that might work for this purpose.  If you have something else that God has been impressing on you to think about, ponder, consider, or meditate on, I would encourage you to focus your quiet attention there.  Otherwise,  I’d be glad to have you read what follows, and ask God what He would have you do about what you’ve read.

I find meditation to be a powerhouse of insight that fuels my intuition and pulls me closer to Papa God every time I do it.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on the subject (if you meditate, how you find it, and if you don’t, why you don’t).  I always love reading your comments.  Enjoy!

Today’s 5-Minute Meditation Prompt

What if at the end of the day today, when you’re tired, and failure is your real and honest estimation of what happened over the last 18 hours, you said,

“All I did was fail today.”

That’s it.
Nothing more.
Only that.

No angst.
No flailing about.
No big drama, followed by tears, screaming, or hysterics.

No self-recriminations.

“I failed.”

Oh, and…

“There’s always tomorrow to try again!”

How would your life change if you were able to think this way? Can you imagine it?

Remember folks, this ain’t literature, it’s my 5-Minute Monday poem and stress-reliever, so take it as such. 😉

So. Much. Fun!

It’s Monday.

Fun Day!

My week can begin.

It’s Monday,

not Sunday.

I’m ’bout to dig in.

The week is before me,

potential galore.

A plethora of choices,

a passel or more.

I could mop the kitchen.

I could trim the shrubs.

I could bake some cookies

His feet, I could rub.

It wouldn’t take long to change out burnt-out bulbs,

or maybe…

just maybe…

Oh, could I? Yes, please!

Get out in the sunlight and stroll in the woods?

I would, if I could, and I can.

“It’s all good!”

It Only Takes FIVE Minutes

5MinuteMonday.GRAPHICjpgI almost forgot!

Today’s the day we start and finish our 5-Minute Monday exercises.

5-Minute Mondays are about blocking off FIVE MINUTES at the beginning of our week and using that time to do one of the following:

Treat Yo-self!

Finish up a belated project.

Get started on a new project.

Dream, meditate, walk, sing, write.

Do anything that your heart leads you to do, (but not evil things).

Maybe you’ll grab a quick five minutes of intimacy with your love this morning.

Maybe you’ll make a call and ask a friend to meet you later for coffee.

Maybe you’d like to kick back and read something inspirational for five minutes.

Or perhaps you want to begin cleaning out that closet, going through your sock drawer, or putting the dishes away.

You might write a note you’ve been putting off.

How about scheduling that appointment you hedged on for weeks?

Have you been waiting to try that easy, peasy recipe for baked oatmeal?  Now is the time!

Whatever it is you want to do, begin this morning with FIVE MINUTES of dedicated zeal.  Nasty procrastination can be pushed back.  It only takes FIVE minutes to do it.

When you’re done, share your 5-Minute Monday outcome in the comments below.  Encourage us all with your proactive determination to get ‘er done!

You can do This!  You will do THIS!

This is your FIVE MINUTES.  Take it and be glad.  I’m rooting for you!!!

I’m going to write some poetry during my five minutes today. I’ll share what I produce later.  Love this challenge, it gets me going first thing each week.

Be Intentional!  Be on task! Be focused!  Be Inspired and Inspiring!!

What crazy, hazy, but fun project have you been putting off for too long now?  What will you do with your five minutes today?

Welcome to 5 Minute Monday!

Did you have a good weekend?

Mine was “full, full, full,” as Eloise would say!  I’m glad, glad, glad to be back at the office, and so glad to be celebrating Monday with my own special 5 Minute project.

You remember how this challenge goes, right?

5 Minute Monday is about doing something you’ve wanted to do for a while, but haven’t had the time, and it’s not about hard jobs, either.  Its about staying focused and enjoying doing something for just five minutes.

On 5 Minute Mondays you’re invited to do something different for 5 minutes.  So what will your project be today?

Will you sort the laundry for 5 minutes?

Or maybe you’ll clean out the garage for 5 minutes?

Will you get on the elliptical?

Maybe your 5 minutes will be spent in solitude in the bathroom.  Not a bad choice!

Or could be you’d like to read an Op Ed piece on Donald Trump, or Hillary Clinton, or a host of others vying for the job of POTUS in November?  It’s 5 Minute Monday–go ahead, have at it!

Recent 5 Minute Monday projects have included…

Someone cleaned out their HEPA filters and now breathes more easily.

Another caught up on blogging assignments.

One sent appreciation notes to co-workers.

Still another, played with his dog for five minutes (really, more!).

What will my 5 Minute Monday challenge be?

Today, I will be spending my 5 minutes at the water cooler, going over the weekend’s happenings with my co-workers.  This is valuable networking stuff I rarely do, but that benefits all involved.  It’s good to laugh together with the people you work with, especially when the work you do is serious most of the time. Today, I will play at the water cooler for FIVE WHOLE MINUTES.  Yipee!

I’ll stop by later to let ya know how it goes.

What will you do for 5 minutes today that you have not done in a long, long time.  What could you do for 5 minutes today that would bring 10 minutes worth of joy to your life?

5 Minute Monday

Today, we begin another challenge, this time a teeny, tiny individual initiative to break out of the doldrums to do something for a mere FIVE minutes.

5 Minute Mondays.

Here’s how it works:  You think of something you’d like to do. Something you meant to do, but didn’t. Something you’ve been putting off, as you’ve become victim to deadly procrastination.  Once you’ve thought of that thing, you contract with yourself to do it for FIVE minutes only.

What will your 5 Minute Monday project be?

Mine is reading about a new instrument I recently made a decision to  use.  I am so not mechanically inclined, so I need to read the booklet first, before attempting to use the device. Otherwise, who knows what might happen.  LOL

So, my 5 Minute Monday project will be to read the instruction manual on this new gadget for FIVE minutes today.  I know I will feel so much better once its done.

Now it’s time for you to decide.  What will your 5 Minute Monday project be?

Will you clean out the glove box on your car?

Will you go to the car wash?

Will you sort through your bills?

Maybe you’ll spend some time spooning on the couch with your love.

Could be your five minutes will be spent with a cup of Joe or cocoa.

Or maybe you’ll pet the dog and throw a ball around with him.

You could start the poem you’ve been putting off.

Or maybe outline your budget for next week or month.

Maybe you’ve been wanting to talk about your job with God. Do it today.

In 5 lil minute, what can you accomplish?

This is a new challenge I will be leveling out there every Monday for the remainder of the year, I hope. That is my intention, anyway.

What will you do for a mere FIVE minutes today?  When will you start the clock on your 5 Minute Monday WIN?
